International debate on antimanicomial struggle held at DP-RJ is published in a report and made available to the public

The International Seminar: Defendancy in Prison and Antimanicomial Fight was the result of interinstitutional dialogues held within the framework of the DEPEN Project “Defender in Prison” and aimed to bring together Public Defenders from all regions of the country, in which full legal assistance and free to people with mental disorders in conflict with the law is provided by the Ombudsman, all in order to reflect on public policies, successful experiences and practice on the national scene (PAILI-GO, PAIPJ-MG, PCIPP-PI, PNAISP and termination of HCTP), as well as to discuss theses and strategies of antipunitivist and health-related litigation.

Held at the Public Defender's Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro, on 24 to 26 May 2017, in partnership with DEPEN-MJ, FESUDEPERJ, CEJUR / DPRJ, ADPERJ, FORUM JUSTICE and the Criminal Execution Commission of CONDEGE, the event was addressed to Brazilian Public Defenders, especially those working in the criminal area; academic / os; mental health and psychosocial care professionals; Public Defender's employees and interns, as well as to the users of the psychosocial care network.

The report brings together the details discussed at this event, bringing to the general public important data, concepts and practices that contribute to the advancement of the antimanicomial struggle in Brazil. To access the Report, please click here or in the image on the side.
