Recognition, Redistribution and Popular Participation: Towards an Integrative Judicial Policy

FORUM JUSTICE AND PHILOSOPHY IN DEBATE

August 2st, 2015

Philosophy-and-IDC-6

Annually, the Cultural Development Institute-IDC, in Porto Alegre-RS, holds the extension course, “Philosophy in debate”. In this edition, it accepted the proposal of the Justice Forum to hold the debate THE PHILOSOPHY LOOK ON THE INSTITUTIONS OF THE BRAZILIAN JUSTICE SYSTEM.

The panel was mediated by the member of the Justice and General Ombudsman Forum of the Public Defender of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Profa. Denise Golden Dora. The lawyer, a member of the National Network of Lawyers and Popular Lawyers-RENAP, spoke at the opening about the initiative of the Justice Forum.

Participated in the table Ms. Richer de Souza (IDC Faculty), Prof. Dr. Fabio Cáprio Leite de Castro (PUCRS) and Prof. Dr. Paulo Baptista Caruso Macdonald (UFRGS). The Prof. Richer brought up the debate about the subjects that are reached by the justice system. He made a history and culminated his speech with the experiences of the constitutions of Bolivia and Ecuador, which recognize nature as a subject of rights. The Prof. Fábio has put in place sociological elements necessary to understand the institutions of the justice system and from there to philosophical questions about the justice system. Closing the table, Prof. Paulo brought a concrete case to the debate, the eviction of Pinheirinho, in São José dos Campos-SP, in 2012.

Finally, the proposal was launched for a permanent space for debate on justice. The Justice-RS Forum, at its next meeting, 13 in August, will discuss this proposal.
