Recognition, Redistribution and Popular Participation: Towards an Integrative Judicial Policy

Luciana Zaffalon

Graduated in Law at PUC-SP, has a master's degree and doctorate in Public Administration and Government from FGV-SP. Main professional activities: Since 2017 has been the general coordinator of the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Sciences (Ibccrim) and since 2016 has been the Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Platform for Drug Policy. She served two terms as Ombudsman General of the Public Defender's Office of the State of São Paulo (2010-2012 | 2012-2014), during which time she also held the Presidency and Legislative Directorate of the National Ombudsman's College of Public Defenders. Coordinated the Institute of Defense of the Right of Defense (Iddd) between 2004 and 2010. She is a researcher at the Center for Studies in Public Administration and Government of FGV (CEAPG / FGV) and is part of the Study and Work Group - Incarcerated Women. Female Incarceration. Author of the book A Crack in Justice - the Public Defender's Office and the Building of Democratic Innovations, she held a doctoral internship at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra (2014-2015). Works in the area of ​​Justice and its interfaces with the Public Administration. Has experience in the field of Law, focusing on Human Rights and Public Administration, working on the following subjects: participation and social control, democratization of access to justice, management in the area of ​​justice, ombudsmen, female incarceration, prison system, gender, drugs and criminal justice.
